A new client I have been working with this year specialise in pre school furniture and garden toys. I have been involved with photographing both outdoors and in their Liverpool based showroom where on my recommendation we designed and built a simple corner roomset to showcase their range of pre school tables chairs and storage furniture. After completing 2 or 3 sessions with them they started to upload to their Amazon seller platform and it wasn't long before they received an email from Amazon complimenting them on the standard of the new images they were uploading and Amazon offered to run some analytics to monitor the increase in sales as a result of the new imagery. Looking forward to hearing the results back from Amazon.

Still life Fashion shoot all COVID compliant ! 2 recent fashion shoots commissioned remotely and shot with social distancing in place. With strict rules enforced during the global pandemic shooting with models became somewhat of a challenge, the usual crew would include models, hair stylist, makeup artists and stylists non of which can be done with social distancing in place so when Wales based dress designer Shane Moore contacted me about shooting his new bridal collection, some creative thinking was required. Shooting the dresses on mannequins seemed the best option, and with a lot of hire studios and location venues closed due to the pandemic an abandoned textile mill in Lancashire seemed like the perfect location to shoot. The resulting shoot was better than the client had ever anticipated and his website is now live as well as a brochure for trade shows, once they are able to resume.  Shane Moore Designs

Another new client wanted to showcase his new product range of outdoor pursuits footwear, all done remotely.

The client wanted a location that suggested the great outdoors and showed the quality of his British designed gentleman's footwear brand Field & Moor.

Shot during lockdown in my own back garden ! I was able to keep a tight control of the shoot and wait for the perfect weather conditions from the comfort of my kitchen, then pop out into the garden to shoot a range of 5 new products. He has new samples arriving soon and I am hoping to be able to travel slightly further afield next time. Florence-002Florence-002

Photography in the community for a local Care Company; Alcedo Care
A local Care Company recently commissioned me to shoot images across their 3 regional offices, the brief was to visit clients both in their homes and out and about in the community with the Carers who look after them on a daily basis.

I spent 3 really enjoyable days out with these amazing carers as we took their clients out for a stroll in a local park, to local cafes and businesses and even along the promenade in Lytham Saint Annes.

Great weather made for plenty of opportunities for some shots out in the community and all of the clients we worked with really enjoyed their 15 minets of fame, many of them asking if we could do it again tomorrow.

The staff were all incredibly helpful and patient too, and always with a beaming smile on their faces.

The website is now live and the client is delighted with the images created.

This year we were commissioned to shoot a magical winter wonderland scene in the studio incorporating part of the In store displays created by the Bents Joiners. Along side the front cover image and inside spread we also shoot a number of cameos featuring some of the fabulous themes that the Visual Merchandise team create each year and images for use across their social media platforms and Christmas promotional material.

Later in the season I return to the store when the displays are all set up ready for the grand opening in October.

"Travel with pride" Photographed with pride too Now you might think it is simple to shoot product images on a clean white background, but every product throws up a different set of challenges.

A recent shoot for custom luggage manufacturer Kit Kase was no exception.

Kitkase design, manufacture & supply a range of high quality travel cases and accessories and over the past 12 months or so I have photographed a wide range of their product for their online  e-commerce platform. Company founder Jamie Burke had spent many hours researching and developing the brand and sourcing premium quality products so it was equally as important to have consistent quality imagery on their website.

In our digital world, where online shopping is becoming the norm, high quality product images are vital to portray your products in a professional manner in an overcrowded market place. Jamie had tried a couple of other photographers but non had offered the consistency of quality that we were able to provide.

Offering main images as well as details to show off the KPI's of these unique products along with 360 degree product spins ensure customers will stay longer and make informed purchases leading to more customer engagement and ultimately more sales..

Luxury Spa Products A recent shoot for Liverpool Luxury Spa product Crystal Clear resulted in some creative product photographs for use on their Instagram and social media sites. The brief was quite free, just to provide them with a range of creative lifestyle images to release via social media. A combination of backgrounds, some creative propping and a mixture of "flat down" overhead shots and 3 dimensional images provided the client with images to release over the coming months.

Liverpool Hair Salon Swanky Malone hair shoot. When Liverpools hottest new hair salon "Swanky Malone" needed some head shots shooting for their social media sites, I was happy to set up a makeshift studio at their Jamaica Street salon right in the heart of Liverpools Baltic Quarter. Owner and creative director Cameron wanted to showcase the talents of his team of stylists at both the Jamaica Street and Cressington salons. The lighting style and background was to be dark and moody in order to give emphasis to the hair styles and colour techniques used to create the looks.

Looking SWANKY !

Kingfisher Group headshots After a call form a contact at B&Q head office in Southampton and I was off to London to Kingfisher Group head office to photograph a group of Kingfisher colleagues in from France for the day to attend meetings in Paddington. Kit all loaded in the car and I'm on my way.

After a 5.30 am start I was at the London offices of Kingfisher in time to meet the 12 colleagues who were over from Kingfisher in France.

Lighting set and test shots done, the brief was to shoot each person in a formal three quarter length shot and then a less formal, closeup head shot to be reproduced in black and white. 3 hours later, the shoot wraps and those travelling back to France headed for the Eurostar while I packed up the kit and headed back North, fortunately the M6 was clear and I made it home in good time.

Commercial video, timelapse and stills photography Inciner8 The big liftshort corporate video to showcase the care and work involved delivering the finished job to site. A recent last minute call from a local industrial client resulted in a quick dash down to their manufacturing site to document x4 40 foot containers being loaded up with an order shipping out to Basra. These last minute shipments are a regular occurrence for Inciner8 who regularly ship their products around the world.

Alex Billingsley, marketing director at Inciner8 wanted us to capture timelapse, stills and video of the shipment which required x4 40 ft containers and a 45 tonne specialised crane to lift the products onto the containers. By attaching GoPro cameras to the crane hook and the cab as well as a static camera we were able to record the lift from several angles thoughout the day.

Here are are a few stills taken on the day.

Inciner8 A call from a website designer lead to an interesting few days shooting large medical and industrial incinerators for local manufacture INCINER8

The biggest challenge came lighting these huge machines, some of which are over 3 meters in length and weigh in at a hefty 5500 KGS.

As it would be impossible to transport the units to the controlled studio environment, Greg took the studio to Inciner8 at their Southport based manufacturing unit.

Manouvering the units in place was easy enough thanks to the skill of their fork lift drivers, once positioned, Greg was able to build a light tent around each one ensuring and evenly distributed light avoiding unsightly flare and highlights while clearly showing off the build quality and all the USP's of each of the various units in the vast range.

Lighting is key to a job like this and this was quite a challenge for Greg whose 30 years of experience came in to play to ensure the client was delighted with the end results. It transpired that an earlier attempt by a less experienced photographer had not been successful as they had arrived on site with just a basic on-camera flash gun !  Greg has worked in many challenging situations around the world, shooting corporate brochures and Annual reports for Vauxhall Motors Ellesmere Port Plant, Cautaulds, BAA, Q8 oils, and the Civil Aviation Authority on locations as diverse as the engine room of a Fishing Trawler in Grimsby, the fire station at Gatwick Airport, in the emergency generator plant deep under the Home Office in Whitehall and even down a giant mine shaft in Finland.

Next up for Greg is a trip to Holland to photograph the interiors and exterior of new accommodation units at a well known holiday company site just outside Amsterdam.....stay tuned for more pictures.

Food and Restaurant Photography Greg has recently had a number of commissions from the food and restaurant sector.

A change in discipline from the more complex studio roomset photography, Greg rose to the challenges and recently produced a series of images for Bents Home and Garden, one of the UK's leading garden centers

Bents have won countless awards and its Fresh Approach Restaurant can cater for every taste with a wide selection of culinary delights from traditional dishes with a modern twist to more creative and contemporary options that are sure to tantalize your tastebuds.

Setting up a daylight studio in the corner of the restaurant, we were able to produce a library of images for use across the business on promotional literature, website POS as well as social media sites such as Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram which included still life shots of food and beverages as well as behind the scenes shots of the kitchen staff and chefs.

By bringing the studio to the client, Greg is able to maximize the facilities and expertise of the team of in house chefs and patissiers while minimizing costs.
